Books teach Heré
Reading is your one foundational education. Lore Books are planned as the honest path into future knowledge—never invisible unlocks.
Kabobs Arcade presents · Bradford, Pennsylvania-ish
“How did I get Heré?” Mark shakes a coffee can of scratched bottle caps. Yours hits the dirt. At 18, with a hard freeze close and nothing formal taught beyond reading, you get pushed from Last Light Camp toward Bradford with a baseball bat and a Lore Book.

Kabob’s at the Option House anchors Bradford: basement, Floors 1–4, roof, stairs, and one extremely locked bank vault.
An optional accountless room can show up to six ephemeral positions. Trade, PvP, inventories, and player shops still require a real authenticated backend.
Iron pellets are game-only Heré currency: earned in play, never purchasable, cashable, redeemable for food/gift cards/prizes, or convertible to Arcade credits or any cross-game value. Future real-money trading is prohibited.
Camp tutorial · Mt. Quintuple southern woods · era unknown
Last Light Camp occupies a sheltered clearing off the old road, south of the fictional Mt. Quintuple summit. Read the notice, choose your gear, then follow the short eastern spur toward Bradford.
Mark shakes a coffee can full of bottle caps. Every cap has a name scratched into it. Yours hits the dirt. Luke keeps stripping copper from a dead radio. “Kid can read. Can’t fix shit. Town might feed ’em.” Mark asks if anybody is arguing. A woman behind a tarp laughs once. Nobody speaks.
Born here. Raised here. Last Light can’t feed everybody through the first hard freeze. Mark says you’re eighteen, untrained, and cheap to lose. He calls that a reason. Your name is still in the dirt. Reading is the one thing the camp formally taught you.
Choose the pack or helmet. Solo Metal is independent.
Bradford’s home castle · Lore Progress floor
Chef Icky stands beside the first-floor hearth like Bradford’s motionless duke. Rustmouth, a battered local iron machine, is bolted to the bar without blocking the hearth. NPC walking and AI are not online yet.

Market Square · future server phase
The optional Online Room can show ephemeral player presence, but it carries no items, pellets, combat, PvP, or transfers. Direct trade and player shops remain future authenticated-server systems.
Iron pellets are local Heré items. They cannot be purchased, cashed out, exchanged for food discounts or prizes, or confused with any separate Arcade Spin currency.
Optional P2P presence · beta
Accountless and temporary. A room shares only character name and map/interior position through small peer-to-peer presence packets. Your local save never joins the room.
Codes exclude I, O, 0, and 1. A code is a temporary address—not a password or account.
